Here we go then before and after, and yes I know the pocket marks/elbow patches (bit too boosh for 40s) are still visible, it needs a wash and a brush
but I've only just finished it and its late and I've got a cap to alter
Before as it was

And after I removed all the pockets and elbow pads, sewed badges on (only eagle was attached and the FH badge didn't come with it. I then had to re-sew the pockets on the lower half according to original pics/references/originals, hopefully it looks ok but I'll get a better idea in daylight ![]()

Just need to make a belt for it and it will be complete

Gah, I knew that, it was a test to see if anyone would notice my deliberate mistake
Ammo boots they are!
Like you'll ever wear them for more than half a day , before the cry of " I need my Magnums" is heard
On the acquisitions front.....a folding spoon/ fork coz it might fit in my mess tins , a small non period hip flask so I can repay Del's kindness at past events , and a 1950's air raid siren
....well technically a CiA acquisition ![]()
At malvern I got myself a decent fitting M38 helmet, from SoF of all places and a K98 bandolier. Forgot to get a belt though.
FJ jump trousers, Y straps, bread bag, g43 pouches and bayonet frog arrive with the post this morning.

Thanks
I've been waiting for someone to say the pockets are wrong ... but then they'd be out of known territory
as its now a female Flakhelferin jacket
and yes I know it does up male style (I may change that at some point when I cba) but they were issued male styled jackets adapted, usually the poorer quality ones
Anyways case anyones interested and for reference heres the pic from osprey cover showing what I was feigning to emulate.

Cigarette and all! ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Aye I can nail that image
, though I think my hair maybes a smidge to long as its below collar length
I'm working on adapting a field cap atm though I need to find somewhere to get a small pebble button (might have to ask Mr Reich Stuff), then I need some M35 LW service trousers I can massacre
oh and a nice knockensack to cover it all up
(multifunctional and two ensembles for the price of one
)

Do you want me to post pictures of the Flakhelferin uniform I have? My misus AND my daughter have worn it to events..... Go on then I know you want me to....
The picture you reference is entirely correct....

My youngest wearing it a couple of years ago...... Excuse the hiking boots..... It had a satin lining in it and my missus removed it to repair and replace it - Still hasn't put it back in yet. Lining was a coppery brownygreen material
Want any more info?
Oh - Badges - One in my collection would suit ya Dink - I'll scan that and post if it's a help........
Aye scan away. This jacket is lined and I undid the lower hem to gain access to the jackets giblets. Thus no need to remove it at all as yet... however as said I'll probs change it over so that it buttons up on the correct side for a lady.
The Osprey pic above is not the only source I've been using Paul, I've a few books with LOTS of piccies in of various angles and indeed varying styles of jackets. Add to that discussions with a couple of acquaintances that have originals (jammy so and so's) I can dream, thus repro/restyled whatever it is (oh and the jacket used has its own history as its not modern
)However am sure the menfolk on here ain't interested
so I just posted the obvious osprey one
Please don't think for one minute I haven't researched this, and then some more, and then that I still am.
HIKING BOOTS
Just kidding but I hope you stitch counted them

I think you did a cracking job on the conversion Helga.
I have Brian L Davis' 2 volumes on Uniforms and Insignia of the Luftwaffe if you ever need a look at them? They have a nice section in volume 2 about the Luftwaffe Women's Service
I wouldn't mind a neb JD I've been looking for a copy on ebay but theres always something else I want and I have too many books as is
but I will invest in it eventually. The books I've been using bar obviously the osprey one are in German as most books on the subject have never been translated which is a shame
but I'm plodding (slowly) through them translating and keep finding new sources of reference.

My Mate KDF also has an original and it is of a different pattern to the one I have pictured.
I would imagine you would research it..... Good to have a warm uniform. Is the lining satin on your jacket? I have seen originals with a heavy grey ribbed cotton half lining. Notice the trousers don't match in colour on my pic......
The badge is a Flakhelferin shoulder shield. Embroidered. I'l scan it but it won't be until Wednesday at the earliest - Prepping to trip out for a day or so - Tomorrow Morning to be spent drooling over The Wheatcroft Collection and lunch with the man!!!!
Now - are you looking to crew a Flak38 or shall we roll out a nice 88 for you?
Satin lined. There is also the M44 style tunic that was worn by both the Flak and the Luftshultz ladies, do you mean that ? or do you mean the Fliegerbluse but slightly different styled ? I've seen them with almost hidden pockets, with no pockets, with one pocket and as above, add to that there are those that wore male jackets, converted male jackets etc etc
far easier being a bloke
. The MP44 ones are pretty much of a muchness I think (going solely from one original and photos, I was going to go that route but erm have since decided to use that for soemthing else, but thats not airsoft appropriate unless they give me a desk next to a large puddle
Warm uniform is def a bonus ![]()
